DISCOVER AN ARTIST exists to enable student artists to showcase their works of art. Many of our prospective artists are currently enrolled in Middle Schools and High Schools and consequently are under the age of 18 at the time of their application.
As Parents we want you to be aware of several issues. Any student applicant under the age of 18 is required to have a parent or legal guardian give their permission under the "Parent's Section" of the DISCOVER AN ARTIST application page.
We make every effort to protect the privacy of our artists. No home addresses or telephone numbers are listed although the following information is part of the Artist Profile:

Name and location of student's school

Student's name, city and state

A blind e-mail address that allows
interested individuals to contact our artists.
In a perfect world the only contact your children could expect would be bona fide art collectors interested in communicating their appreciation of your child's work. Responsible people realize that the world is not perfect.
We expect that all parents of minor children be sensitive to the privacy you enjoy and take responsibility for both communication on this web site and the exercise of oversight for any potential transaction regarding the sale of art by your minor children who are legally incapable of entering into such a contract.
If, as a parent, you are uncomfortable with the privacy issues raised by the gallery listing or are unwilling to supervise the communications and transactions between your student artist and potential collectors, we strongly suggest that you reconsider your child's participation in the DISCOVER AN ARTIST program.
Should any problems arise, we urge you to report them to DISCOVER AN ARTIST immediately.
