Some great art can be found in many places…a downtown gallery, behind the podium of a big city auction house or in the shadow of a dealer's private portfolio. These works have passed through many hands, their values predetermined and stamped by the marketplace. Undiscovered treasures they are not.

NOTES ON PURCHASING STUDENT ART

We hope that purchasing student art on DISCOVER AN ARTIST will prove to be a rewarding experience. These transactions, as with all others, should be approached with care. Please observe the following:

• Verify the size, medium and material used to create the work of art.
• Agree on the method of payment and the terms of the exchange.
• Confirm the method and costs of shipping
• In short, come to agreement on all terms of the transaction in advance.
• If the artist is under the age of 18, be sure that you are dealing with the artist's parent or legal guardian.

All sales are made between the artists (or their parents in the case of minor children) and the prospective buyers. DISCOVER AN ARTIST assumes no responsibility for the sales transaction although we ask that all artists and collectors report any problems or irregularities.
